Tim_Leipzig18 Jul 2026 - We went on a tour to see dolphins and whales with Madeira Sea Emotions. We had doubts before with whom to go, on what boat, from what part of the island. And we have made a good choice. It was a two-hour boat trip (10-12 people + personnel), the boat is compact and it is perfect for being fast and flexible in the ocean, to approach animals closely and to change the spot quickly if needed. The personal is professional and gentle. They share their passion for the ocean life and animals, tell the stories of how animals live and behave, and what water life scientist do in their job and what species it is possible to see near Madeira. We were ready for a trip just for searching the animals, but the weather was worm and sunny, the water was still, we were lucky to see both dolphins and whales. I recommend you to have this experience with these guys, it is very emotional and in a good company!read moreread less
11 Ago 2026 - Bring your swimsuits!!The trail is amaziiiing! A must see on Madeira. It changes in altitude a lot however, so be ready for a lot of stairs. A cafe at the end, however pretty expensive. There’s also two ways down to swim and another to do kayak, boating, etc. The viewpoint at the top near the end is hard to climb to, there’s a lot of slippery terrain because of gravel and a lot to maneuver a climb into. HOLD THE POLES ONLY, the wires were rusty and were breaking. We got many scratches from the wires. For swimming:- near the 1/3 of the trail there’s a way down to a rocky beach, we didn’t go but it looked wonderful.- near the Casa da Sardinha (the cafe) there’s a lower access point to go kayaking. Just across there’s a bunch of rocks you can cross to reach a ladder about 5-7 m up from the water. The lagoon is fantastic there. Our tickets were checked at the entrance so make sure to reserve and have the tickets ready! We reserved them a week in advance. We were also early and were let in before our time with no problem after we had asked. There is a nice RED food truck near the entrance! The owner is super sweet. Beware you need to pay 2€ for the toilet(in reality just the toilet paper) - a portable one.read moreread less
